At The Roger Strickland Farm, we not only want you to remember your wedding, we believe you should experience it! We are proud to offer a signature southern approach to weddings called “The Slow Wedding Movement”. Our venue package has been created to allow you the time to slow down, unwind and connect with your loved ones. We are proud of the amenities and features offered in our Slow Wedding Package, including:
Exclusive use of our 76-acre farm on the day of your wedding from 9am – 12am.
Use of our farmhouse bridal suite & gentleman’s quarters on the day of your wedding (bridal party only).
Farmhouse kitchen available to your caterer on the day of your wedding.
Use of the property from 12pm – 9pm on the day prior to your event for setup and rehearsal. Feel free to use this time just to kick back and enjoy the farm, unplug or sneak in some fishing before your big day.
Ample parking during your event.
Use of our 12 recently refinished church pews for wedding ceremony (seats ~90 guests)
Use of our ceremony arbor & venue owned decor
Onsite Venue Coordinator ** The venue coordinator is not a wedding planner or day of wedding coordinator service. We highly suggest that you hire a day of wedding coordinator to assist with your event.

What is included in the total? The package pricing offered on our website is intended to provide a ballpark estimate of our base venue rental fee and a conservative estimate of basic rentals. The Roger Strickland Farm has partnered with a local equipment rental company to simplify the rental process. While our base venue rental fee will not change (with the exception of a change in guest count) the cost of rentals will vary widely based on individual selections of rentals and quantity of guests. We strongly suggest that all clients contact Chair & Equipment Rentals of Rocky Mount directly for an accurate estimate of rentals based on personal selections and quantities required. The Roger Strickland Farm cannot guarantee rental pricing and all rentals will be handled directly between our clients and Chair & Equipment Rentals of Rocky Mount. A. Our rental partner provides a wide variety of event rentals including tents, chairs, tables, dishes and linens. (All rentals, rental contracts and payment of rentals are between the client and Chair & Equipment Rentals of Rocky Mount):

Is there a service charge on top of the bill? If so, how much? There are no additional or hidden costs in the base venue fee payable to the Roger Strickland Farm.
How much is the deposit? When is it due? Is the deposit refundable? A deposit of $1,000 is required along with a signed contract to secure the date of your event. The deposit is due when the contract is signed and will be applied to the total balance of the base venue fee. Deposits are non-refundable, however should you need to reschedule the date of your event it will be transferable and applied to the new date.
When is our date locked in? The date of your event is locked in once we have received a signed copy of the contract along with a $1,000 deposit.
How do you structure the payment schedule? When is the final balance due? The remaining balance of your venue reservation fee is due 30 days prior to your event date.
What are the rates for different days of the week and times (Friday, Saturday, Sunday; morning, afternoon, evening)? What about different seasons Because we only book one event per weekend and allow our clients to have access to the venue the day prior to your event and the day after our base venue rental fee is always the same.
What is the cancellation policy? Cancelation of an event will result in forfeiture of your deposit. We do however understand that "life happens" and will work with you to reschedule your event if possible.
How many weddings or events do you host on one day? On one weekend? We only book one event per weekend.
Do you have a list of approved or recommended vendors we can use? Absolutely! We have a list of some of our favorites and we are happy to share. We're always up for meeting new vendors.
Do we have to use your approved vendors? If not, are there limitations or guidelines we need to meet when bringing others in? We have an exclusive equipment rental partner. All other outside vendors are welcome as long as they have proper licensing and insurance.
Will your staff be involved in setting up and breaking down the décor? In what capacity? Our staff is not typically involved in setting up or breaking down decor, but will gladly assist for an additional fee.
Do you have an in-house caterer? If so, are food and beverages included in the venue rental fee? We do not have an in-house caterer, but we are happy to recommend some of our favorites. Food and beverage costs are not included in our venue rental fee.
When can vendors arrive for setup? Vendors may arrive for setup during any of the hours included in your venue rental. Friday 12pm-9pm, Saturday 9am-12am and Sunday 8am - 12pm. Special arrangements may be made in advance.
Do we have to purchase liquor through you, or can we source liquor elsewhere? We do not sell or serve alcohol. If you are serving alcohol at your event you will need to source from elsewhere. Please read the sample contract for specific requirements.
If we can bring our own liquor onto the property, is there a corkage or service fee? We do not charge a corkage or service fee.
Are there noise restrictions? The noise ordinance requires music to be over by 11PM.
How many bathrooms are there? Will we need to rent additional portable restrooms? Our farmhouse has one bathroom available for the bride and Roger Strickland Farm staff. Wedding guests are prohibited from entering the farmhouse including use of the restroom. Additional portable restrooms will be required and can be rented from our exclusive equipment rental partner. These are insanely nice outdoor restrooms!!! **We understand that certain exceptions might require guests to use our farmhouse restroom.
Is parking available on-site? On-site parking is available.
What is the venue’s capacity? Venue capacity is 400.
Do you have your own sound equipment and speakers, or will those need to be rented or provided by the entertainment?We do not own sound equipment and speakers. These will need to be rented or provided by the entertainment or can be rented from our equipment rental partner.
What is the backup plan for rain or inclement weather? We encourage our clients to work with our equipment rental partner to understand options for backup plans for rain or inclement weather.
Will a shuttle to and from the ceremony and reception be provided? We do not provide shuttle service, but will be happy to recommend vendors that will provide this service.
Are there restrictions for the photographer? No restrictions.
Do you offer accommodations? We do not offer overnight accommodations at this time.
Is there a smoking area? Smoking is prohibited in the farmhouse. Outdoor receptacles for cigarette butts will be provided. Cigarettes may not be thrown into the pond or on the property.
Is there a secure space for gifts? Gifts may be locked in one of the bedrooms inside the farmhouse.
What, if any lighting do you supply? Tent lighting will need to be rented from our equipment rental partner. We've got the rest covered!
How close Are overnight accommodations? The Town of Wilson is less than 15 minutes from our venue and offers several options for accommodations.
